Tom Hallett Client Receives Large Sentencing Departure in Oxycontin Trafficking Case

Hallett, Zerillo & Whipple Managing Partner Tom Hallett was able to get his Client a massive departure for health reasons under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines today in the United States District Court in Portland, Maine.
Our Client was charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Oxycontin. Attorney Hallett argued for a departure due to his clients various health afflictions. The Government Attorney hotly the Client's claimed afflictions and brought in medical experts to dispute them.
After several contested sentencing hearings, our Client received a 30 month sentence today. This represents a 6 year deviation from the high end of the sentencing range.  Congratulations to Attorney Hallett and our Client for this fantastic result.

BMV and Court Victory

Back-to-back victories for a client! Just negotiated the dismissal of a second lifetime OUI in court to a Driving To Endanger. Today, we won a contested BMV hearing on the administrative suspension. Great week for our well-deserved client. The issue was the Officer's failure to follow Maine's regulations for processing a blood draw.
