Medical marijuana stolen from Fryeburg home

FRYEBURG, Maine -Fryeburg police are searching for whomever broke into a home and stole approximately $10,000 worth of medical marijuana.

The burglary was reported on Duck Cove Road Thursday afternoon.

A door to the home was damaged and an alarm system was tripped, police said.

The homeowner, who was not home at the time, thought it was a false alarm and canceled a police response with the alarm company, police said.

Officers responded, however, and discovered the break-in.

Police said the marijuana was being grown legally by a licensed caregiver.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
