Mike Whipple Wins Operating Under the Influence Jury Trial

HZW Shareholder Attorney Michael Whipple was victorious yesterday in an OUI jury trial in Sagadahoc County.

Our Client, who was visiting Maine from Massachusetts, was charged with an OUI just before Christmas last year.  Yesterday, Attorney Whipple tried the case to a jury.

The police officer testified yesterday that our client admitted to drinking prior to driving, that he lied about the events of the evening and that he miserably failed field sobriety tests. On cross-examination, Attorney Whipple was able to break down the officer's testimony and establish that the officer did a shoddy and unreliable investigation.

The State tried to revive their case by bringing in their chemist.  However, Attorney Whipple had the chemist make calulations during his cross examination that supported his version of events.

After a strong Closing Argument by Attorney Whipple in which he used various demonstrations to explain the concept of reasonable doubt, the jury declared his client NOT GUILTY.

Congratulations to both our Client and Attorney Whipple.
