Federal Computer Crimes Sentence Deviated Down To 12 Months

Last week in the United States District Court for the District of Portland, HZW Managing Partner Tim Zerillo represented a Client in a child pornography possesssion sentencing. The Federal Sentencing Guideline range for the charge was between 78 and 97 months.  Through extensive briefing, research and oral argument, Attorney Zerillo advocated for a dramatic variance.  His Client received a sentence of 1 year and 1 day, which, with good time, will effectively be a 10 month sentence to serve.

HZW Attorney Daphne Hallett Donahue Is Nominated To Federal CJA Panel

Congratulations to Attorney Daphne Hallett Donahue, who was one of two Maine lawyers added to the Federal Criminal Justice Act Panel this year.  This is a competitve and important panel.  None of the applicants for the Bangor Court position were accepted and only two of the applicants for the Portland Court were accepted.  Congratulations to Daphne, and to her future clients who will benefit from her relentless criminal representation.
