Federal Computer Crimes Sentence Deviated Down To 12 Months

Posted by Timothy E. Zerillo | Mar 16, 2017 | 0 Comments

Last week in the United States District Court for the District of Portland, HZW Managing Partner Tim Zerillo represented a Client in a child pornography possesssion sentencing. The Federal Sentencing Guideline range for the charge was between 78 and 97 months.  Through extensive briefing, research and oral argument, Attorney Zerillo advocated for a dramatic variance.  His Client received a sentence of 1 year and 1 day, which, with good time, will effectively be a 10 month sentence to serve.

Federal sentencing is extremely complicated and Attorney Zerillo has had some excellent results in the last few months representing clients at sentencing.  Several months ago Attorney Zerillo was able to advocate for a 30 day county jail sentence for a client who embezzled a significant amount of money from a Federal Labor Union.  More about that case can be found by clicking here
